Through the Looking Glass

Daisy and Landon are fast becoming friends. During breakfast, Landon's always looking to see where she is and if she's eating her breakfast too. Daisy will put toys near Landon so that he can play with her. He doesn't get it yet and instead steals the toy and then Daisy has to in turn steal it back. Plus, since Landon has been crawling, Daisy thinks he's much more fun and interesting and loves to get in his way.

Tongue in Cheek - or not

It's crazy how our we do things that we don't even realize we're doing. I told John that when he was feeding Landon, he'd stick his tongue out really far but he didn't even realize he was doing it even a little bit. I've already gotten laughed at by my family when I fed Landon and it was John's turn! I took this video of John when he was feeding Landon so he could see for himself the funny faces he made. I would post the video except for the fact that it's 7 minutes long and we don't have the software to edit the material. It's so long because it took a long time for him to forget that he was being recorded. Maybe someday, we'll get the software and I'll show you all his funny faces! He'd love that.

Growing Up

Today at church someone brought their little 5 week old baby. He was soooo tiny and cute! It seemed like just yesterday that Landon was just a newborn and couldn't do anything! To me, he's still that little newborn although I can't believe he was ever that small. Recently he started crawling and now he's pulling himself up on stuff. He just turned 9 months and the time is flying by! He makes the funniest faces too. He'll stick out his bottom lip or smile very tight-lipped. I'm enjoying every day with him because I know that someday, he won't want his mama.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Those who know me know I'm not that much of a romantic but I decided I would do a little something for Valentine's Day. I couldn't think of too many things that you could cut hearts out of except for grilled cheese sandwiches so that's what we had! Grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup. I also made a batch of sugar cookies and the activity was frosting them. John liked it and thought it was very sweet. Who says you have to go all out?!

We got a piano!

This past weekend, we went out and bought a digital piano - a Yamaha Clavinova. We wanted one that felt more like a "real" acoustic piano but at a good price. Years down the road, when we're settled into a house, our plan is to get a nicer acoustic piano. For now, we didn't want to deal with moving a piano when that time to move eventually came. Plus, it's got a couple of bells and whistles - not many, but it hooks up to the computer, so I can get more bells and whistles out of a computer program.
We got the piano delivered today, and Landon decided to help us break it in. Look, he's already using the black keys. I smell a prodigy!

The Contra Poll

When my friend Jason made a post on his blog about the NES game Contra, my wife and I were debating about whether the game was a "classic." She didn't believe it was, which led me to create that poll. For those who know her, I hope this doesn't make you think less of her :-)
The vote was an overwhelming 8 to 4 in favor of Contra being a "classic!" Come to find out, Tiffany voted more than once. In fact, three of the 4 "No" votes were from her. The real question is, who was the other one who voted?

Daisy in the Snow

Daisy LOVES the snow! She's always loved the snow and in Utah, it snowed a lot more. The first video is of her when she saw her first big snow in Utah. The second video is her enjoying the first real snow we had here this season. She also likes to eat the snow and pounce on it. I don't know what's up with that.

So It Begins

Skip to about 25 seconds since it's sorta long.

He just loves to read! :)
