Resolutions

I don't make New Year's Resolutions. I don't believe in them! I hate when people start showing up in the gym in January and take away all the machines! It drives me nuts. The only good thing about me being sick (I have bronchitis) is that I don't have to deal with the crowds at the gym. Now I'm not saying that people shouldn't have a goal to work out but just don't make that resolution in January. I have to recommit myself to going to the gym every day, week, and month! All those New Year's resolutions can't be made just at the beginning of the year and forgotten!! Anyways, that's me on my soap box today.

Landon caught the cold like all of us. Yet he's still that happy little baby!! I feel so lucky to have the BEST BABY IN THE WORLD! Okay, I know I know, I'm biased because I'm his mom, but seriously, how cute is he?

He makes me smile every day!

Christmas Toys

John got a remote helicopter. He let me play with it too. It's pretty fun but sorta hard to aim. We were actually aiming for the red box that's on the floor. I got so close! By the way, excuse how I look. I didn't realize how much I was slouching! I was not feeling well!

She's smaller than him but she's sure more mobile! Landon's cousin Riley could walk/crawl circles around Landon. Riley is almost walking at a mere 9 months old! Landon at now coming up on 8 1/2 months, still hasn't started crawling. I'm not complaining. At least I can leave him on the floor and don't worry that he's going anywhere quickly. I did have a dream the other day about him. He was crawling so fast and he was really close to the stairs. I had just left for a couple seconds too! Soon, that will be my life, but for now, I'm enjoying the fact that I have a lazy, happy kid.

California

After we had Christmas day with my family, we left that night to California to visit John's family for a week. While we were there, some of our very best friends were leaving from the SFO airport which is only like 5 minutes away from John's house. We had to see them since they now live in Wisconsin and we have NO idea when we would ever visit Wisconsin! (sorry guys) Their 2 boys are the twins that I've pretty much told everyone about. For all of you who haven't heard the story, here it is. Alyssa, our friend, was due 11 weeks behind me with a baby boy. Well, I was due with a baby girl, as you all remember, until a week beforehand. So, I end up having a boy which was a surprise and which doesn't happen all that often. Well, 8 weeks after I have Landon, John and I get a phone call. It's Alyssa saying she's in the hospital and she's had her baby. I'm thinking, Wow, 3 weeks early! Lucky! Well, all throughout her pregnancy, she'd been either the same size or even bigger than me. Now we know why. She tells me she delivered twins boys. I think she's lying and say, "shutup, nuh uh." I figure she's just trying to one up me on delivery stories. Alas, she wasn't lying. After they delivered the first baby and thought they were done, about 4 minutes later the doctor says, "there's another one in there!" Crazy, huh? A couple minutes later, they had 2 baby boys. So, if you didn't know the story, now you do. They've done such a great job with being surprised and all.

Here's a picture with Landon's cousin Kate. They're 3 months apart. Can you guess which one is older? They're about the same size. Of course, Landon is the younger but bigger one. :)

Catching Up

Well, before I even got home from California, I got sick. Hence the reason there hasn't been a new blog for quite some time. I've had it for 2 1/2 weeks and John just got sick. I'm finally feeling better! Well, now for some pictures from Christmas.
Here's the making of the gingerbread house. I found trolls upstairs. They were the perfect size for our house. Also, we have an ice-skating rink and an igloo with a pet pig.
We had lots of sweets! These were the sugar cookies we made.
We made a stocking cookie for everyone who was home.
Landon's 1st Christmas! He really liked his books, clothes, and toy train! He's loved that Thomas the Train. Thanks Diane!
