Our place doesn't have many places to put all our stuff so I decided to have my Dad teach me the basics of wood-working and start by making a shelf, to place our TV on and put our DVD player and VCR in, and a bookcase. I've got to say, I'm pretty proud of how it turned out! Now we finally have a place for our books and our DVD player and VCR don't have to look so white trash sitting on the floor! Plus, the nook that we have doesn't fit many of the bookcases that you could buy at the store. It has really random dimensions so John and I had been thinking that maybe it'd be better if we made one. Oh, and just imagine the bookcase actually pushed back into the nook. It doesn't really stick out like that!! And just to think that it all started out as sheets of wood!

Great jorb! (homestar runner reference) They look really nice. I'm a little jealous that you can hang out in the garage with dad and his power tools. Make sure to keep the bookcase bottom heavy or you'll need to brace it against the wall so Landon doesn't pull it down.

Tiffany, are you freakin kidding me?! I can't believe you made that stuff!! You're so awesome. If we ever live near each other again you are so teaching a class for Relief Society on wood working. ; )
